This project is proving employment to the slums residents, thus improving their livelihoods.

A variety of indigenous vegetables
Description : Sustainable agroecology farming in Langas and Yamumbi slums schools does not exist due to lack of land, knowledge and skills. We are beginning an agro ecology farm to demonstrate exemplary agricultural practices to our students, the community and neighbouring schools, which they will apply in their homes and schools. We are planting a variety of indigenous vegetables, potatoes, beans, maize and yams. This will help to enhance food security and nutritional value of our students, staff and the local community

Indigenous fruit and shade trees
Description : Langas slum experiences prolonged harsh climate change effects due to deforestation. Society of the Sacred Heart, Uganda-Kenya Province is planting variety of fruit and shade trees on its new school premise to help combat these effects, prodie fruits and shade to our students, staff, the residents of Langas and Yamumbi slums.
